EA Sports marks the retirement of Mut 22 coins NFL legend Tom Brady by raising the cover star rating in Madden NFL 22 to the highest possible rating in the game, 99. This is the second time during the NFL year that Brady has an OVR that is 99, since the initial boost was to 99. In October, he set the all-time career high.

Brady began his career in the NFL in 2001 with an OVR of 57, and his rating has improved over the years because of his play on the field in the NFL, mostly with his team the New England Patriots and eventually the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady also scored an OVR over 99 during Madden 09 and Madden 12. Madden 12, Madden 18, Madden 19 as well as Madden 22.

Brady's final season during his time with the Buccaneers was among the best of his passing statistics. He was the top player in all of the NFL in touchdown passes (43) along with total passing yards (5,316).
