A Tuscan Vineyard Wedding of High School Sweethearts from Cicicici's blog

Leanne, a lawyer, and Therapon, a GP, were married around the 30 June in the lovely, San Casciano in Tuscany, Italy. They first met in school when they were 16, and began dating after knowing one another for a week.

"We were together for 13 years before Therapon proposed. He got recorded on one knee along with a mountain in Val d'Isere France. I didn't view it coming! He proposed together with his grandmother's diamond engagement ring, which was beautiful."

"I wanted a bohemian wedding dress. I am not a princess dress type of girl. I also wanted something a bit different and unique, but additionally something that works with the venue and also the hot weather."

Therapon found his smart grey suit, which they wore having a fantastic printed shirt, and shoes, along with a vintage Omega watch, passed on from his grandad.

Family and friends gathered on chairs arranged outside, in front of the wonderful arbor of greenery decorated with beautifully made macramé.

There were also lovely readings throughout the ceremony; the very first being the lyrics to Bruce Springsteen's song, and also the second, a sonnet by Pablo Neruda,

"We chose these because they were a little unconventional. We both love music, so music lyrics felt just like a nice choice. I think Bruce's lyrics are actually beautiful and incredibly symbolic of the marriage. Pablo’s poem provided goosebumps. It was found and chosen by Therapon. We liked it since it felt very real, and never typically idealistic (while you find with a few poetry)." Go

Everyone sat right down to a magnificent Tuscan feast. The meal began having a four-cheese risotto and spinach and ricotta ravioli, then steak on the bed of rocket and Parmesan, with grilled and baby vegetables.

"We didn't have wedding cake – controversial, I know! Instead, we opted for any gelato van, which transpired as a treat. We're not huge fans of wedding cake and tradition wasn't too vital that you. We were never likely to have a cutting from the cake ceremony, so did away with using the cake altogether."

"I think what stood out throughout the day was the speeches. Both Therapon and I did an address – in addition to both of our fathers. It was one point within the day where I was both in a position to sit wonderfully with our family and friends and make my way through, and also the speeches were so heartfelt and emotional."

In the evening, paper lanterns, festoon lights, and sparklers filled the nighttime sky with glowing light, because the dancefloor was filled, and Leanne and Therapon danced together for that first time as a couple, towards the Arctic Monkeys' version of I Wanna Be Yours.

"The whole day made us feel truly overwhelmed and grateful to become surrounded by such great people.

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"I know everyone says this, but don't sweat the little stuff. It is nice to possess the little touches, however, the little touches don't ultimately make a big day. It's sharing the love with your new husband/wife, having fun together with your guests, and creating memories which will last forever."

"Also, stay true to what you as well as your significant other want. Don't ever feel pressured into altering your ideas since it suits others. If you stick to your needs guns, you'll have your dream wedding just how you both wanted it. It should be a reflection from the both of you, and when it is, you're certain to love every minute of it."
