A Gin-Inspired Wedding from Vinctor's blog

Secondary mathematics teacher Rachel wed Scott, a fireplace alarm engineer, on 29 July 2018 at Houghton, Preston, inside a countryside-inspired day full of pink summer roses, rustic detailing, and… gin!

Time to speak about Rachel’s simple, totally modern gown which I am head over heels for due to the clean lines, simplicity, and touch of sparkle. I think its halterneck design and gorgeous V-back are different, too.

"I was looking for any simple but elegant look than one that was much less glitzy. I loved the fabric and the way it had been different from all of the others. I loved the actual way it fits and exactly how it helped me feel – like I didn’t wish to take it off. It was also so comfy. It has been said this dress is made for me and was referred to as being 'just me'."

The couple first met whilst being employed as lifeguards at their local leisure center and were together eight years before Scott proposed within the Lake District.

"We soon became friends and then were built with a Christmas smooch. We officially became boyfriend and girlfriend on Valentine's Day 2009. We bought our ideal home in May 2014, where I am sure we'll stay till we're old!"

"Our house didn't feel like an effective home until Scott purchased a black Labrador puppy called Baxter in May 2015; he's given us plenty of laughs and certainly kept us on our toes. Crackers aren't the word! After realizing that Labradors need plenty of exercises we took numerous trips towards the Lake District."

"A place we now have grown to like, it had been here that whenever almost nine years together, Scott proposed in August 2017. This was this type of surprise and I was on the moon – I had thought it had been never going to happen! The wedding was booked in December 2017 and also the big day ended up being to be in July 2018; this didn't leave long to plan and organize." Here

Whilst Rachel prepared, Scott and the groomsmen dressed up in blue suits, shoes, shirts, and ties from Menswear in Preston. Scott asked his older brother to become the best man, whilst the bride-to-be's younger brother and three of his school friends were groomsmen.

Rachel was able to find blush pink bridesmaid dresses that complemented her very own halterneck gown from an online store. They wore all of them with the cutest cream court shoes, decorated with tiny flowers.

They all wore love knot earrings gifted to them by the wedding couple and their braided up-dos were adorned with fresh gypsophila.

Photographer has captured such glorious 'getting ready shots during the day, along with the beautiful ceremony and reception shots. Her style is clean and crisp – and thus colorful too.

"She was clear and organized in the start and incredibly attentive throughout the day, having a documentary style which suited our look and led to fab photographs."

The bride carried a bouquet of peonies and foliage come up with by Margaret Mason, a buddy of Scott's family. The bouquet may be the epitome of summer – but I might be biased as peonies are among my very favorite flowers.

"I searched through Pinterest often to find the perfect type of flowers. I had to complement the bridesmaids' dresses as well as the venue. I went for pink peonies for my bouquet and pale pink roses with plenty of green for that bridesmaids."

"There's just one word to explain them; amazing. Our wedding will not have been the same without them."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"Don't worry an excessive amount about the small things and focus on the things that your friends and relatives are going to remember. Food was vita and thus we incorporated this into every part of our day, even including an ice-cream van because the evening guests arrived!"
