A Magical Winter Wedding inside a Converted Railway Depot in Berlin from Cicicici's blog

Victoria, Deputy Secretary General from the German Council for Sustainable Development, and Thorsten, the police with the Berlin State Police Department were married on 13 January 2018, Berlin.

"We wanted a venue which was close to the house for logistical reasons as well as something quite central to Berlin once we had many guests traveling set for the wedding. It also suited our brief for any relaxed location with lots of room along with a great atmosphere.”

"A friend recommended Saskia in my experience. She specializes in documentary-style wedding shoots and helps to create very atmospheric pictures. Saskia was very warm and attentive. She was open and simple to talk to."

"On your day she blended into the celebrations seamlessly also it was a pleasure to possess her around. Shooting a winter wedding features its special challenges because of the lack of sunlight, but she managed to get an asset and captured a lot of beautiful moments for all of us. She works internationally too and I would recommend her to couples wanting a documentary style feel for their photos."

Victoria's elegant lace wedding dress is made for her by a friend and designer, having a romantic lace bodice and a graceful silk skirt.

"The look I wanted would be a deep V-Neck (right down to the waist) by having an A-line skirt. Throughout the fittings Dara caused me to produce the look, but additionally made the adjustments that my curvy shape required."

"She carefully placed the lace so that it met in front covering the bra I was likely to wear and pieced together two various kinds of lace to include a nicer edge along with a little sparkle. Nothing was an excessive amount of trouble and she or he even put in some little net gussets under the arms to make sure I could move freely without compromising around the fitted look from the sleeve." Go

The flowers were filled with frosted, winter beauty in shades of white, with waxflowers and eucalyptus, in addition to gorgeous ranunculus using the most delicate hint of blush pink. They were the job of Jil Berner, who had been recommended to the couple by make-up artist Mandy.

"We met on the blind date on January 13th, 2013. It was in the Café Chagall, a classic quirky pub in Berlin. We didn't know much about one another before the meeting and were curious for more information. I had planned to create an excuse to depart after ten minutes or so if I didn't feel any connection. As it ended up we talked all night and learned that we had both lived abroad for amounts of time and want to do so again."

"For our second date, Thorsten invited me towards the 'Komische Oper'. He booked seats for us inside a private box which we shared by having an elderly couple who've been regulars there for many years and always have those seats. It was wonderful to talk about a box having a couple who was still in love after a lot of years. I wouldn't state that it was love in the beginning sight. Our love for one another developed gradually with time."

Victoria chose Pachelbel's Canon in D as her entrance music for that ceremony. She was accompanied on the aisle, and here Victoria explains her choice and her reasons.

"There was this kind of overwhelming sense of love within the air. The ceremony was very emotional and private. It was wonderful to determine the many shining faces taking a look at us and also the contributions by our friends, particularly the songs, were so touching."

"Andrea, the maid of honor, acted as master of ceremonies and kept everything running smoothly around the day. She kept any problems out in our sight to ensure that we could enjoy ourselves."

The couple landed on the brilliant idea for favors. On each guest's seat, there have been matches and sparklers, that have been then lit and held aloft like a glittering guard of honor because they walked back on the aisle as newlyweds.

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"Take time for you to consider which things about your day are vital that you concentrate your efforts on those. Our priority ended up being to provide a beautiful and relaxed atmosphere for our family and friends. So the venue, the meals, and the kids' entertainment were all key elements for all of us. Table decorations in comparison were not at the top of our list."
