Sian And Tom's Festive Winter Wedding from Vinctor's blog

These newlyweds were built with a wonderful wintery wedding with lots of festive touches. Sian and Tom first met in Magaluf, Majorca, in 2008 and they didn't meet again until they were both in Ibiza in 2013. "Our first date is in September 2013," says Sian. "We went for some drinks around Liverpool City center, that is our hometown."

AN UNEXPECTED PROPOSAL

Tom proposed once the couple was in Ibiza for Sian's birthday in May 2019. "We went for a lovely meal at 7 Pines Ibiza," says Sian. "Tom had always said he'd never propose with an occasion like Christmas, Mothering Sunday, or an anniversary, which completely threw me from the scent! We visited to get a photo from the beautiful sunset after which he got recorded on one knee."

"His mum had sadly died the month before and he proposed together with her engagement ring. I am a total shock because it was my birthday and I had no idea whatsoever! I felt such as the luckiest girl on the planet. You could almost hear our friends and family screaming from Liverpool because they had been awaiting this moment provided me!"

BRIDAL SHOPS FEELTIMES

Sian found her dream lace wedding dress in FeelTimes online shops. "The girl who served me was new and I was her first customer," says Sian. "Once the veil and tiara were on too, my mum and grandma couldn't restrain the tears. I loved the classic timelessness of the dress, it had been so beautiful and can still be as beautiful in half a century."

A HOMETOWN WEDDING

"We always wanted a marriage in our hometown of Liverpool, because it's the very best city on the planet," says Sian. "We also provide elderly relatives that will struggle abroad. Liverpool Town Hall was our option for the ceremony because it's probably the grandest and most delightful building. Many people haven't even turned up there too, so it had been amazing for our guests."

"For the reception venue, we chose One Fine Day, which would be a short leave. It's a classic cotton exchange building, so provides extensive history and, such as the Town Hall, is grand and gorgeous. It was perfect for the Christmas winter wedding."

"We wanted a winter wedding, as our friends and family had previously had summer weddings. These were always stunning, however, there's just something so magical about Christmas. I wanted to become engrossed within the wedding and filled with festive happiness."

THE BIG DAY

"For our big day we arranged for any white (traditionally black) taxi to escort all of us to the venue," says Sian. "My dad sadly died a week after our engagement, so my grandad was more than pleased to give me away. However, on the day of the wedding, he fell ill so my buddy kindly stepped in instead."

"The weather was perfect, a crisp December day although not too cold for that walk towards the reception venue. We had 'Kissing You' by Desiree for walking on the aisle, which got our guests' emotions going."

"Our most memorable moment was following the ceremony," says Sian. "We arranged for any nine-piece brass band to surprise our guests after which escort us around to the reception venue. There were a lot of members of the public taking photos and congratulating us. It truly was spectacular then one I think our guests will discuss forevermore!"

"Once we've got to One Fine Day there would be a canapé and drinks reception. However, Tom and I didn't reach taste these, once we were driving around our beautiful city getting probably the most amazing pictures."

FEELING FESTIVE

The wedding theme was pine cones. "I wanted our wedding to become a winter wedding at Christmas, not a Christmas wedding at winter," says Sian. "So there were just hints of Christmas throughout, such as the huge Christmas trees both in venues. I wanted to add several personal touches, so I had napkins embroidered with everybody's names, which these were able to keep and employ for years to come."

"Our favors were both our mother and fathers' favorite treats, so this would be a little nod to both of them. Our cake was four delicious layers of sponge covered with white icing and decorated with a silver ribbon. It also was built with a bride and groom pine cone on top."

"At the finish of our three-course meal, once the evening guests started arriving, we were built with a soul singer on the piano singing probably the most amazing classic Motown and soul songs," says Sian. "This would be a lovely touch before our DJ began to obtain the party going."

MY TOP TIPS…

"Just do why are you happy, it'll truly be the very best day of your lifetime."
