For me, there's so much joy during these interviews. Not only are we able to become familiar with the talented designers themselves to see more about their journey but it’s additionally a wonderful chance to learn much more about the business of bridal and also the design process itself. I hope you enjoy talking with Katy about what I did.

Would you love to introduce yourself and inform us how you began in bridal design and what drew you to bridal particularly?

I have always loved sewing and design from a young age but originally desired to study costume design. My tutor suggested bridal wear in my experience as she felt costume wouldn’t be what I expected. There was a bespoke bridal shop within the town where I lived that I had always admired. I put on work there, became her assistant, and she or he taught me everything I know.

After starting to gain a Fashion degree I realized my heart still lay with bridal. I love dealing with beautiful fabrics and creating the best dress for any client. Bridal wear offers up endless possibilities when it comes to design. It’s exciting!

What would you love most about working within the bridal world?

I like to design, it is indeed my favorite area of the job, and being employed in bridal allows me to operate closely and form relationships with clients thus every day differs. My job is filled with creativity and challenges, so I am never bored.

Can you describe your signature style?

I think my style can be defined as romantic, feminine, and trendy. I like to make use of the cut from the design because the focal point of the dress, is certainly not embellishment.

What would you think makes your brand so attractive to brides?

The appeal is certainly that they can have just about anything they want. They may have ideas completely that belong to them, and that we can bring these phones to life. Or they might love one of my designs but wish to change it slightly. For certain body shapes, a made-to-measure gown is certainly the smartest choice. It isn’t a procedure that suits all brides, however, it’s a rewarding journey for individuals who choose it.

Do you've got a ‘typical’ bride or would you work with a large range of clients?

My customers are all so different. Although I feel perhaps I do possess a style during my designs, my clients incorporate their very own ideas within their dresses and so there's great variation. The one thing they've in common is they all wish to wear something unique.

Where would you start with each new design – are you able to talk to me about using your process?

When I’m designing for my collection the starting place is very usually the fabric or lace. If I find something I love, the ball gown wedding dress is usually designed around it. Once I have sketched the design, the outcome rarely looks just like it evolves a lot during the pattern cutting process. I will often create a mock-up from the design before beginning the final garment, which is ideal for envisaging the ultimate result. During construction I am constantly experimenting around the mannequin, pinning bits on and cutting bits off. Click

Tell us about your latest choice of designs, and what inspired you to create them?

My current collection may be the first one I have ever produced for wholesale. I desired to recreate what I do for my brides for other boutique proprietors to offer for their brides. The collection is predominantly separated and layers the bride can combine and essentially develop a dress. many of the pieces are sheer, to allow them to be tried up with different color linings, or extra sequin or lace layers.

Can you inform us about the materials you utilize?

I am enthusiastic about fabric, it's essential to the success of the final design. I love laces and embroideries which are slightly unusual. I have staple ivory silks that I know will invariably produce beautiful results.

Do you've got a favorite piece (or possibly one or two pieces) you believe might be well-liked by your brides?

One of my most widely used pieces may be the Florence skirt. It is created using a huge amount of mikado, which provides its fullness and flow without needing a petticoat. It has box pleats and pockets along with a split. It’s simple but constitutes a statement.

This year has knocked all of us of course just a little. How have things changed for you since March?

Business is extremely much on hold. I have two young kids, with no childcare so work at the moment isn’t possible. I squeeze in phone consultations where I can, however, it was as if a switch was flicked.

How perhaps you have had to change what you’re doing as well as your plans for that year?

The biggest change for me personally was the cancellation of London Bridal Fashion Week, as I was because of the exhibit and launch of my collection. I had concentrated a lot of energy into it throughout the months accumulating to March, and for this to not happen was very deflating. The show organizers happen to be great, and incredibly quickly set up an online marketplace. Digital and virtual serve a preliminary purpose in bridal, however, they can only get you so far. People need to determine gowns within the flesh, observe how they move, and inspect the fabrics.

What are you currently most getting excited about getting ‘back to normal? Have you re-opened for appointments?

I can’t wait to get back to operating properly. My youngest starts school this year and thus I’ll be able to operate more than I could pre-lockdown. I’m getting excited about seeing my clients who've moved their weddings and helping these phones get excited again and also meeting all of the new brides that happen to be in touch throughout the past month or two.

I think the pandemic can create an awakening among couples planning weddings. I think the expensive little details won't carry just as much importance, and also the main focus is going to be on sharing your day with people who matter most.

What would you love most about dealing with brides?

I like to share their excitement, and produce their dress vision alive. I often form some kind of relationship with each one of these, which is lovely. I’m still in contact with lots of my brides through the years.

If you'd one message for readers who have needed to postpone their wedding days or delay their plans, an amount it be?

I understand fully your devastation, however, the most important thing about your big day is marrying the individual that you love. As long as you can continue to do this in some manner at some point, you will possess a great story for the rest of your lives. You are going to be part of history.

With the elements outside my window going for a decidedly grey turn as I sit to create this piece, today's magical celebration inside a beautifully restored and converted barn in October is giving me all the warm and cozy autumnal feelings I need.

Wherever you're, I hope it will the same for you, too. This is the wonderful wedding of Nadim, who both operate in advertising. Justine is an account manager, and Nadim works in strategic planning, plus they celebrated their marriage on 27 October 2019, around the coast just beyond St. Andrews, Scotland.

From the boutique online, Justine chose her beautifully romantic a line wedding dresses, using its striking floral lace embroidery and soft tulle overskirt. I love how you're able to see the lace design underneath the layers of dreamy tulle.

"I loved my dress because of its simplicity and natural flow on me. It would be a romantic dress, and that's what I fell deeply in love with. I also wore an embroidered veil."

"Because it had been autumn and Hallowe'en was right around the corner, we chose flowers that brought a rustic country feel to the wedding. Because it had been almost Halloween, pumpkins were key features."

Groom Nadim looked incredibly smart inside a burgundy tuxedo with contrasting black lapels along with a black velvet bow tie. This splendid attire is made for him by a Dubai-based designer – sadly not one other detail was supplied.

There would be a spectacular ceremony backdrop, full of seasonal beauties – evergreens, branches of turning autumn leaves, berries, grasses, and pumpkins.

Justine was accompanied on the aisle by her father, to some piano version of Coldplay's Yellow, and also the couple's ceremony was conducted with a bishop in the Syriac Orthodox Church.

"We met at the office, we dated for three years, and were engaged for just one year before getting married."

I love how Justine and Nadim's photographer captured the gorgeous atmosphere during the day in this beautiful number of images, in the cozy glow of Kinkell Byre's interior, towards the fading autumn light and rich colors of the year as Justine and Nadim took a stroll post-ceremony.

Delicious food was made, and there was also a table of various Scotch whiskies for guests to assist themselves.

"We decided on a four-tiered semi-naked cake by. We chose it since it fit the theme, and looked perfect around the wooden barrel that people placed it on."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"Try to possess a consistent theme throughout, and become prepared for last-second hiccups because things are inevitable, yet it's important to let this stuff go by, and ensure you enjoy the wedding as much as possible."

Every occasionally, an editorial submission arrives that quite literally takes my breath away. This is one of them.

The concept behind this shoot is exquisite. It explores love without barriers and sweetness without convention. It also features a couple of our members, both of them incomparable and desired in their very own right.

She fell in love. It may happen to be his cheer optimism, his handsome smile, or his warmheartedness. He fell in love. It may happen to be her subtle air of mystery, her fiery locks, or her serein demeanor. They fell in love and love was all it mattered. They had one another and their love and also, since, the sun's rays shined just a little warmer and also the moon shimmered just a little brighter upon their lives. Although their held hands are frowned at as well as mocked by many – yes, even today-, there is such a magnetism between them as well as their loving gaze grew stronger for one another each passing day.

Nothing else mattered apart from the way they loved one another. The way their hands intertwined into courage and tenderness. The way they saw one another and the world. The way he held her face. The way she investigated his eyes.

Nothing else mattered. Only their trust. Their raw transparency with one another. The simple great thing about two lovers cherishing one another, without borders or frontiers.

And on that day, their unexplainable love- because what it's to explain about love after all became an eternal promise. To have one another, to gaze at one another, to hold one another, to love one another, enduring whatever came their way with similar passion, the same tenderness, and also the same love.

"I wrote those words immediately after I heard some racist words against an interracial couple, within my little quaint capital of Scotland - Orbe, Switzerland."

"Those words had become the storyboard, the thread that I followed when imagining this editorial."

"This editorial was conceived like a story of grace, highly inspired through the contrast between your sheer moonlight and also the dark blue sky in the evening."

"Playing with various fabrics, like silk chiffon and silk velvets, and textures, we attempted to accomplish a feeling of lightness with warm intimacy and refined elegance. I desired to create a feeling of classic elegance and contemporary minimalism, and above."

"Most of, every supplier I worked with about this editorial needed to represent people and businesses engaged in social causes – who have been passionate about sustainability."

"Our photographer knew how to use natural light to capture everything perfectly – focusing especially around the lovers as well as their natural interactions."

"The silken perfection of FeelTimes simple wedding dresses, the breathtaking and delightful cake produced by Bouchra, the sensual and delicate curves of Leïla's floral ring, the artistry and refined texture of Nora's wedding stationery – every element joined together to beautifully illustrate my vision."

"Manon our makeup artist enhanced the natural great thing about the bride and groom having a modern, natural look and lastly, our models and Mohamed simply made the whole story their very own. This was an ode to any or all lovers who can identify with themselves."

"We aimed to produce a story of the gentle and harmonious romance – but most importantly, a metaphor for social justice and also the celebration of love and sweetness without barriers or conventions."

This gorgeous, Autumn micro wedding in Oxford is only the ticket. Kelly and Ross tied the knot on 26th September 2020 having a ceremony at, then a reception.

Kelly found her elegant lace dress from FeelTimes online store.

"I knew I had found the mermaid wedding dress of my dreams when I saw the gorgeous floral train around the FeelTimes dress."

"We met online in 2013 in our hometown of Melbourne, Australia. We both had the travel bug at that time and realized on our first date that people were planning working holidays within the UK."

"Since that first date, we've been lucky to go to several countries together, making the move over towards the UK in 2016."

"Ross proposed on my small birthday in April 2019 on the day trip to Thyme England within the Cotswolds, on the walk within the stunning countryside nearby."

"We initially planned to marry in May 2020 in Australia, however, COVID-19 happened! We have postponed our larger celebration in Australia to 2021 but didn't wish to wait for any more to marry, therefore we decided to possess a micro wedding within the UK too."

"We stayed COVID-19 safe by social distancing and/or mask-wearing around the day when needed. We were lucky to marry outside the formal lockdowns which helped too! For example, I was allowed to possess a hair and make-up artist within our home."

For favors, the pair provide their adult guests having a copy of the Philip Pullman book 'Lyra's Oxford', reflecting the marriage theme from His Dark Materials. They were also given gin and whisky mini bottles in the Cotswolds Distillery.

"We didn't possess a budget per se. We were thinking about investing our budget right into a few key areas – especially where we're able to support smaller businesses that had inspired me on social networking for years – and save in areas which were less important for any micro wedding."

The bride has two very favorite memories from her day;

"Firstly, having our incredible friends and family join us via Zoom from Australia and overseas! It was incredible to determine our family members with us, albeit virtually! It was Saturday night in Australia and some of our friends and family made a celebration of it, incidents were dressing up as our wedding party."

"Secondly, enjoying our sit-down meal at our reception savoring our time with these friends, food, and amazing details – the tablescape, floral details, and cake especially. It was so lovely to consider it all in and revel in it in the end the changes we've experienced this season."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"Although our day looked and felt different to the original large wedding planned for country Australia, it felt as special to us as we'd hoped. We were so happy around the day and remain looking forward to our future celebration in the future."

These newlyweds were built with a wonderful wintery wedding with lots of festive touches. Sian and Tom first met in Magaluf, Majorca, in 2008 and they didn't meet again until they were both in Ibiza in 2013. "Our first date is in September 2013," says Sian. "We went for some drinks around Liverpool City center, that is our hometown."

AN UNEXPECTED PROPOSAL

Tom proposed once the couple was in Ibiza for Sian's birthday in May 2019. "We went for a lovely meal at 7 Pines Ibiza," says Sian. "Tom had always said he'd never propose with an occasion like Christmas, Mothering Sunday, or an anniversary, which completely threw me from the scent! We visited to get a photo from the beautiful sunset after which he got recorded on one knee."

"His mum had sadly died the month before and he proposed together with her engagement ring. I am a total shock because it was my birthday and I had no idea whatsoever! I felt such as the luckiest girl on the planet. You could almost hear our friends and family screaming from Liverpool because they had been awaiting this moment provided me!"

BRIDAL SHOPS FEELTIMES

Sian found her dream lace wedding dress in FeelTimes online shops. "The girl who served me was new and I was her first customer," says Sian. "Once the veil and tiara were on too, my mum and grandma couldn't restrain the tears. I loved the classic timelessness of the dress, it had been so beautiful and can still be as beautiful in half a century."

A HOMETOWN WEDDING

"We always wanted a marriage in our hometown of Liverpool, because it's the very best city on the planet," says Sian. "We also provide elderly relatives that will struggle abroad. Liverpool Town Hall was our option for the ceremony because it's probably the grandest and most delightful building. Many people haven't even turned up there too, so it had been amazing for our guests."

"For the reception venue, we chose One Fine Day, which would be a short leave. It's a classic cotton exchange building, so provides extensive history and, such as the Town Hall, is grand and gorgeous. It was perfect for the Christmas winter wedding."

"We wanted a winter wedding, as our friends and family had previously had summer weddings. These were always stunning, however, there's just something so magical about Christmas. I wanted to become engrossed within the wedding and filled with festive happiness."

THE BIG DAY

"For our big day we arranged for any white (traditionally black) taxi to escort all of us to the venue," says Sian. "My dad sadly died a week after our engagement, so my grandad was more than pleased to give me away. However, on the day of the wedding, he fell ill so my buddy kindly stepped in instead."

"The weather was perfect, a crisp December day although not too cold for that walk towards the reception venue. We had 'Kissing You' by Desiree for walking on the aisle, which got our guests' emotions going."

"Our most memorable moment was following the ceremony," says Sian. "We arranged for any nine-piece brass band to surprise our guests after which escort us around to the reception venue. There were a lot of members of the public taking photos and congratulating us. It truly was spectacular then one I think our guests will discuss forevermore!"

"Once we've got to One Fine Day there would be a canapé and drinks reception. However, Tom and I didn't reach taste these, once we were driving around our beautiful city getting probably the most amazing pictures."

FEELING FESTIVE

The wedding theme was pine cones. "I wanted our wedding to become a winter wedding at Christmas, not a Christmas wedding at winter," says Sian. "So there were just hints of Christmas throughout, such as the huge Christmas trees both in venues. I wanted to add several personal touches, so I had napkins embroidered with everybody's names, which these were able to keep and employ for years to come."

"Our favors were both our mother and fathers' favorite treats, so this would be a little nod to both of them. Our cake was four delicious layers of sponge covered with white icing and decorated with a silver ribbon. It also was built with a bride and groom pine cone on top."

"At the finish of our three-course meal, once the evening guests started arriving, we were built with a soul singer on the piano singing probably the most amazing classic Motown and soul songs," says Sian. "This would be a lovely touch before our DJ began to obtain the party going."

MY TOP TIPS…

"Just do why are you happy, it'll truly be the very best day of your lifetime."

For brides seeking to wear something rather less formal on the wedding day, I hope that these beautiful images provide plenty of inspiration. Liz decided on a beautiful, unstructured, linen dress having a pretty embroidered heart belt to put on on the day she wed Adam. The couple tied the knot on 26 June 2021 at Lower House Farm in Longtown, Herefordshire. Having fallen deeply in love with the farm venue during the photoshoot a long time ago, they took its incredible, natural setting as inspiration for her styling, adding lots of flowers, foliage, and colorful touches to create the day feel truly them.

For her bridal outfit, Liz decided to pair a relaxed, white bohemian wedding dress from FeelTimes having a custom belt produced by Angie Power and Rachel Rousham.

"My necklace was from Studio Rua and all sorts of my other jewelry was vintage from inside the family."

"Adam also wore Wonderwood by Comme des Garçons because it's very sexy. Adam is left-handed plus they designed the suit knowing that, and therefore he felt comfortable and confident at the time."

The bride was driven towards the farm in her own dad's car, complete having a bridal bow. The beautiful weather resulted in the couple could wed outside, inside a simple setting shaded by trees.

"We didn't have music because we wanted it to feel natural, but I wished I had something just to walk to about halfway over the field. I wound up humming 'The Imperial War March' of the things. Make of that what you should."

The newly-weds as well as their guests moved into the open-sided barn for any rustic, sit-down meal.

"We composed little bags of pick and mix as our favors. At weddings, I always like it when there's a sweet table so that as we couldn't do this for Covid reasons, we chose to include sweets in this manner."

Capturing all of the beautiful imagery at the time, were Emily & Steve Photography, whose gorgeous work we've had the pleasure of sharing on our pages before here.

"Emily and Steve were our number 1 choice as soon as we got engaged. Adam has known Steve since their college days therefore it was lovely to possess familiar faces that people could easily integrate into our seating plan."

The couple met via Adam's work.

"The magazine where he works was hosting an event and that he'd been nominated for bar duty. I went to talk to him and wound up chatting through the night. He inquired about out for any drink the next weekend which was it. We'd been together for six years when Adam proposed on my small favorite beach in Cornwall. We got married almost 2 yrs later."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"It's the cheesiest advice ever but stay true to yourself. You know what you want to opt for your gut. Don't browse around too much for the inspiration, imagine what you love also it'll all get together."

Sending a lot of congratulations and like to you both, Liz and Adam. It's been this type of privilege to feature the wedding today and I love your bridal style.

You fell in love with your wedding dress and wore it on your best day ever. Now that the big day's over, you loathe the idea of letting your dream gown collect dust in your closet—and the prospect of selling your used wedding dress sounds pretty appealing. Not only can you earn back some cash, but your dress will also get a second life. The process of selling your princess wedding dresses online might seem a bit daunting, but by following a few simple steps, you can give your gown a better chance of selling quickly.

Check out our step-by-step guide to selling your used wedding dress online, and make some money after your big day.

1. Decide if it's worth it to sell.

First things first—you'll need to determine if you want to sell your used wedding dress. Once it's sold, you can't get it back, so if you're feeling at all sentimental about your gown or might want to pass it on to a future child or family member, take a step back. You'll also want to think about your potential earnings, and if it's worth the effort. If your gown is in good condition and less than two years old, you can probably sell it for about half its original retail price. And if your gown is by a higher-end designer, you might be able to get slightly more than that. One more thing—if your dress has obvious damage that would be expensive or impossible to repair or clean, you might not be able to sell your used wedding dress.

2. Find a reputable site.

Next, it's time to research how you'll sell your used wedding dresses online. There are several services out there, each with its pros and cons. Our top pick is Nearly Newlywed, a service that handles most of the legwork for you. All you have to do is send in wedding dress information and photos, and once your gown is approved, they'll take care of working with potential buyers, payments, shipping, and returns. Note: There is a $25 listing fee, and Nearly Newlywed charges a 40 percent commission. You might also choose to sell your wedding dress on a site like Tradesy or even on Craigslist, but we recommend going with a site that specializes in wedding dress resale.

3. Get your dress professionally cleaned.

According to Nearly Newlywed, wedding dresses that have been professionally cleaned sell up to twice as fast and have a lower rate of return. So if you're planning on selling your used wedding dress, the investment of having it cleaned is well worth it. There are even online companies that make the process a breeze—they'll send you a shipping kit so you can send your gown directly to them and will ship your dress back once it's in pristine condition.

4. Price competitively.

On sites like Nearly Newlywed, you'll set your selling price for your dress. If you want to sell your wedding dress quickly, we recommend marking it down to between 40 and 50 percent off the price you paid for it. However, if you're not in a rush or your gown wasn't super expensive, to begin with, you can lower the price more gradually, starting with 20 percent off and going from there.

5. Find or take professional pictures.

The best way to make your gown stand out to potential buyers is with great photos. Professional, full-length shots of you in your dress are ideal, blurry photos of you trying on your gown in the salon less so. You can also provide photos of your dress on a hanger to show its current condition, but those shouldn't be the primary images for your listing. Buyers prefer to see how a dress looks on a human, not a hanger.

6. Make sure you have accurate measurements and other dress details.

When creating your listing to sell your used wedding dress online, you'll need to provide detailed information about your gown, including its measurements, fabric, silhouette, neckline, and more. If you aren't sure or have questions about your gown's details, you might look at the dress' tags or the receipt for sizing information or search online to find similar dresses if you aren't an expert in silhouettes or necklines. Try to be as accurate as possible—a gown that's misrepresented online will likely be returned.

7. Write your listing.

As part of your listing, you'll need to write a few sentences about your gown. Talk about your wedding dress' unique features and its condition. If you wore the dress on your wedding day, you can even add a line about how you felt wearing it to give your listing a personal touch. Be as descriptive as possible without writing a novel—short and sweet is best.

8. Be patient, and adjust pricing if needed.

It can take anywhere from a few weeks to a year to sell a used wedding dress online. If it's been a month or two and you haven't received any interest, you might consider lowering the price, adding new photos, or adding more information to the listing. If your dress doesn't sell in a reasonable time frame, you can always take down your listing and keep your dress.

This relaxed farmhouse wedding joined together in just four months. "Tom and I lived several roads aside from each other but we weirdly never knew one another," says Vicki. "We only really started speaking as we bumped into one another at a bar and recognized each other. Seven years later… here I am!"

A SUNSET PROPOSAL

Tom proposed in July 2018 in Santorini. "It's an enchanting place," says Vicki. "He made a memory book and gave it in my experience in our private flat. When I reached the final page, he got recorded on one knee there was the important question! He then offered me a dress that he'd bought before the holiday and said he'd booked a cafe or restaurant to watch the stunning Santorini sunset. Amazing!"

WEDDING DRESSES FEELTIMES

Vicki bought her dress at FeelTimes online store. "I only took my mother beside me and we had the very best experience," she says. "The staff were so friendly and helpful. I said yes to Archer bohemian wedding dress, the 3rd dress I tried on."

A CHANGE OF DATE AND COUNTRY…

"To cut an extended story short, because of COVID, our eventual big day was actually on our third date and within our second country," says Vicki. "Originally we were because of getting married in Ireland in August 2020 but we'd to keep postponing. Eventually, we chose to change this to possess a small intimate wedding in Devon and arranged another wedding in four months!" Go

GLAMPING AND A ‘HOBBIT’ HOUSE

"As it had been a very stressful journey, we wanted a relaxed venue where we're able to add our very own touches. We chose Higher Holcombe, an adorable barn in Honiton, Devon, that included a farmhouse and glamping accommodation. The best part was that the wedding couple also get in which to stay a 'hobbit house' for that night of the marriage! We finally got married on 20th May 2021."

THE BIG DAY
